Abbey Road

Abbey Road - A person standing in front of a store - Key West

The Key West bar named Abbey Road is also sometimes called “The Beatles Shack” because it was once connected to the hotel that the band stayed at in the Southernmost City. The Beatles were diverted from the mainland to Key West by the approach of Hurricane Dora in 1964 and stayed for two days until they could continue the tour.

In Key West, Abbey Road is located on North Roosevelt Drive in the courtyard of the Hyatt. (Even locals have a hard time finding it.) There are four beers on draft, more in bottles, wine and frozen drinks to enjoy right next to their pool.

One of the beers on draft is called Sunshine State Pils. It is a German Pilsner style beer brewed by Florida Beer Company in Cape Canaveral. It has a full-bodied flavor with a hint of citrus.

The pool overlooks the ocean across the street and the well manicured landscaping gives the bar an intimate feel. Stop by daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and have a drink or one of the delicious burgers.
