For the first time in Key West we are proud to welcome the American Cancer Society Bark For Life supporters who will be holding an event recognizing the care giving qualities of canine companions. Dog owners, those with cancer (as well as those who are cancer free) know about the special benefits of owning a dog, such as unconditional love and companionship. Cancer researchers have found that pet ownership has proven to be a reliable predictor of survival. We would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to join us at the Bark For Life event and honor all cancer survivors and those canines who have served as caregivers and those who have fought cancer themselves.
The event is set for Saturday, June 4 at the circle next to the Dog Park. The entrance on White Street. Registration begins at 9:30 am, with Opening Ceremonies and the Blessing of the Animals at 10 am until 2 pm. Suggested donation is only $10. There will be an optional dog walk highlighted by the Grand Marshall, Mako.
The special event will include training demonstrations by Raul Hernandez, food and drinks, treats, lots of water for fun and drink, guest speakers, live music, silent auction, pageants and contests, prizes, informational tables by all of the pet supported non-profits in the lower Keys and more.
