Class XXI Done – Leadership Monroe County graduates latest class!

This past Saturday, alumni, friends and family of Leadership Class XXI celebrated their graduation at the newly renovated Islander Resort in Islamorada.

For the past seven months, the class participated in hands-on sessions with topics ranging from the environment and tourism to education, health, government, law and military. Each session is specifically tailored to address the unique issues facing Monroe County and designed to inspire solutions and promote cooperation.

Leadership Monroe County alumni, now numbering more than 450, serve in key leadership positions in government, business, education, law enforcement, nonprofits, the arts and other community sectors.

Notable alumni include Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay, Monroe County Commissioner Heather Carruthers, Waste Management’s Greg Sullivan, BPW President Sarah Cizmas and First State Bank President Karen Sharp.
