A few months ago, a loggerhead sea turtle swam right up to the Turtle Hospital seeking “free” medical treatment. He was just “sick as all hell,” said Turtle Hospital Administrator Ryan Butts. Diagnosed by Dr. Douglas Mader, the turtle had a nasty infection, but after a few months of antibiotics, “Kincaid” is ready to return to his home in the ocean.

The event will be broadcast LIVE on Fox News for the whole world to see and the good folks at the Turtle Hospital are asking for the entire Keys community to come out and celebrate the release of this amazing creature.

“Fox wants to get a ton of people out to show the support that people in the Keys show for sea turtles and Keys wildlife,” said Butts. “As well as show off the beautiful Florida Keys.”

So bring your signs, smiles and sunscreen as the Turtle Hospital shows the rest of the world what is right in our own backyard!

The release will take place on this Sunday morning (June 14) at 9:20am on the western foot of the 7 Mile Bridge at Veteran’s Park on Little Duck Key (MM 40).
