Goldman’s Deli is in its 17th year for a good reason. The homemade soups, bagels, wraps and sandwiches loaded with flavor and fresh ingredients are very popular amongst locals.

“People know us for our sandwiches, but we have great wraps, soups and salads too,” owner Mark Bailey said who runs the operation with his wife, Deborah.

Walking into Goldman’s is reminiscent of an authentic deli in New York or Chicago with bagels boiled and toasted, and lunchmeat piled high on the sandwiches that are, of course, served with a pickle.

For breakfast try one of the different omelets and homemade bagels that come in plain, poppy, sesame, everything, onion, garlic, pumpernickel, rye, salt, whole wheat, cinnamon/raisin and cranberry. Pair it with a specialty spread or turn a bagel into a breakfast sandwich by adding ham, bacon, salmon or an egg.

When lunchtime comes around Goldman’s has got it covered. For something light and savory, the soups are a must try— chicken noodle and matzo ball soup are made everyday. There is a large assortment of hearty salads that slay an appetite. Greek salad, tuna nicoise, chef salad, fresh fruit and cottage cheese and peasant salad gives veggie lovers a tasty green meal for everyday of the work week.

“The speed of the service is pretty important too. We serve a lot of working locals and have a great pick-up business,” said Deborah.

Sandwiches and wraps are made ready to order at lunchtime. One of the most popular is the classic Rueben pilled high with hot corned beef with sauerkraut, Swiss and Russian dressing on homemade rye. Patrons can order a grilled cheese that will forever bust the notion that it’s just for kids — think muenster, Swiss, American, or cheddar with bacon and tomato. In the mood to try something new?
