The American Red Cross fundraising dinner-dance, The Florence Spottswood Humanitarian of the Year Award Gala, recognized and honored an outstanding leader in the Monroe County community, Holly Merrill at an event on Jan. 31. Merrill possesses the qualities outlined by the International Red Cross Movement including humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, universality and unity. The Humanitarian Award presentation brings together many of the leaders of the Florida Keys community.
