Scared of sharks? The idea of submersing yourself to depths of 60 feet to see a ship… just not for you? You must feel like you’re missing out on the event of the decade with the sinking of the USNS Vandenberg. Now, you can experience her magnificent beauty in the movie theatre!
This weekend, the new TV series From the Water Show with Captain Marlin Scott will debut at the Tropic Cinema. From the Water is a 26-week series. This Sunday, viewers at the cinema will digest the first episode, which features the Vandenberg sinking, a marked event which was televised around the globe on networks such as CNN, and The FOX News Channel. The show captures not just the sinking, but touches on the wreck fishing created by artificial reefs. The captain will showcase the process of catching bait fish and the overall excitement generated by the sinking of the ship.
There’s even a Vandenberg theme song written and performed by local musician Howard Livingston and his Mile Marker 24 Band.
The producers describe From the Water as an exciting, new outdoor adventure series set in the sometimes-serene waters around The Florida Keys. The production promises to carry viewers away to underwater treasure hunts, offshore fishing excursions, and luxurious island retreats. Plus, shrimping 200 miles out in the Gulf!
