The holiday parade is one of the highlights for the 6th Annual Islamorada Holiday Festival scheduled for Friday evening December 3. The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for entries into the Holiday Parade. The date for the parade is December 3, 2010 beginning at 7pm. The parade route will circle the Great Lawn in Founders Park. The route will give observers a large area to gather for parade watching. This year the parade’s theme is “Holiday Blessings under the Sea.” Captain Pat DeQuattro, of the United States Coast Guard, will lead the parade as the Grand Marshal.

“We are excited about the parade and want to encourage everyone to join us for this local holiday event as either a participant or an observer,” said Ed Kinkelaar, President of the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. This will be the sixth year for the holiday parade in Islamorada and it is open to the entire community. Bands, antique car groups, scout troops, churches, and businesses are encouraged to enter the parade. Judges will select winners in several categories based on creativity and adherence to theme.

If you would like more information on how to register for the parade, you can stop by the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center at mm 83 bayside and pick up a registration form or call 664-4503 and ask to have one sent to you.
