Big Dawg unites old friends

Last week, Florida Keys Seabase Director Keith Douglass joined old friends from Pennsylvania for a day of Florida Keys fishing.

The group boated cobia, king mackerel, and hooked some sharks and a goliath grouper while fishing with Big Dawg Charters.

Toys Wrap Up
when all of Marathon gives

On Sunday, December 19 nearly hundred deserving families gathered at the New Life Church in Marathon to receive Holiday trimmings collected during Toyz for Keyz Kidz.

During the month of December, an army of elves led by Det. Sgt. Linda Mixon gathered checks and toys from nearly every business and organization in town. The 7 Mile Marina hosted a casting contest, the Monday Night Madness Radio Show dedicated an hour and a half to the effort, and an unwrapped toy was required to gain admittance to the Florida Keys Contractors Association holiday party.

Other businesses, like Marathon Garbage, the Law Office of Hal Schuhmacher, and the Marathon Vet Hospital joined organizations like the Marathon Rotary Club, Marathon Fire Rescue and the Duck Key Lunch Bunch to contribute to the noble effort.
