A Bad Year for Tomatoes is set in 1974 when a famous actress, Myra Marlowe, decides to take some time off from the stress of her career to hide away and write her autobiography. Marlowe rents a quaint hamlet in Beaver Haven, Vermont hoping to rest and relax in anonymity, grow some tomatoes, and write. But… Myra’s neighbors have other plans. They’re nosy and intrusive, they’re meddlesome, they’re busy bodies. In an attempt to scare them away, Myra invents a crazy, homicidal sister who is “hiding away” upstairs. When the neighborhood handyman gets a crush on the “sister,” all sorts of hilarious antics ensue. This production will make you laugh out loud again and again.
A Bad Year for Tomatoes is directed by Jackie O’Neil and produced by Claudia McEwen. Cast members include Noelle Belden, Nate Ferrera, Suzanne Terpos, Marianne Benvenuti, Eric Rolfe, Valerie Taylor and Alan Andrews.
