Fishermen’s Hospital is pleased to announce that Virginia Mason, Fishermen’s contract Biomedical Technician,  just received her International Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).  Ms. Mason is very pleased and proud of this prestigious achievement.  She studied for three months prior to taking the certification test, which encompassed anatomy, engineering, and several other advanced subjects.

Ms. Mason’s notification letter from the International Certification Commission states, “Your examination score clearly displays your dedication to your career, and that you have earned such a certification through education and experience. … It is the belief of ICC/USCC that it is vital for those engaged in the biomedical field to maintain current knowledge in education and practice.”

Summer Soccer Starts at Community Park

In spite of the summer heat, over 80 children between the ages of 5-11 as well as their 15 coaches and parents turned out Tuesday afternoon for the first session of Summer Soccer. This is a 9-week program, which runs throughout the summer. There are 8 teams divided by age groups and a fun time is promised for all. Teams selected their team name and color before starting drills and skills development at the first session. The program meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Community Park soccer fields. We hope to see these athletes down the road in the 2030 World Cup! This program is run by the City of Marathon Parks and Recreation Department. Photo by Ali Adams
