Miami’s Williams maintains title

12th annual DAS No Name Race results

Over 300 runners took the opportunity to run the road to No Name Key in the 12th Annual Domestic Abuse Shelter No Name 5K Run Walk. Runners from across the country enjoyed the cooler weather allowing for some great times. Jon Williams, from Miami, upheld his title as the fastest runner on No Name Key Winning the race for the second year in a row with a time of 17 Minutes and 59 Seconds.

Following in 4th place overall was Local Big Pine Key Runner and top Female finisher Helena Bursa in a time of 20:36. Male Masters Winner (over 40) John Mornini, from Germantown, MD was 5th overall finishing in 20:51. Female Masters winner was Miami Runner Barbara Wach, running a 23:02.

There was a unbelievably fast walker in town, 62 year old, Andrew Smith, from Whittier, NC who walked an incredible 27:29, well ahead of Keys Walker Larry Ferguson who took the Walkers Masters award in a time of 31:56. Women walkers were lead by, Tavernier walker, Phyllis Quinby in 36:33 and the Female Masters Walker award went to Peggy Tuttle of Little Torch Key in a time of 39:29.

Key West Southernmost Runners enjoyed working with the Domestic Abuse

Shelter staff and volunteers as well as the Monroe County Sheriffs Explorers, Girl Scouts, Zontians and thanks the Old Wooden Bridge Fishing Camp for the great venue. Centennial Bank was the Friday night pre-registration location and brought out the grills for some hot post race food.
