#NeverForget: Mallory Square honors 9/11 victims - A group of people standing next to a fence - Palm trees

We all remember where we were on September 11, 2011. We can recite what we were eating, who we were chatting with and the flood of emotions that overpowered us as we watched in disbelief. Yet in the face of tragedy and fear, our nation’s identity continued to thrive, as heroes emerged from the ashes, some making the ultimate sacrifice, to save the lives of those in need.

Today, Local military, police, firefighters, government, and citizens gathered at Mallory Square to honor the more than 3,000 victims of 9/11. The Keys Weekly thanks all of our armed forces, local law enforcement and first responders, courageous citizens and those who boldly stood tall on that infamous day…along with those who still continue to preserve our freedoms. In a gesture of photographic silence we offer our gratitude and remembrance. Thank you. We will never forget.
