The Weekly Newspapers are proud to welcome former hotel and resort sales manager Anneke Patterson as the newest account executive to their sales and marketing team.

A native of Richmond, Indiana who immigrated from the Netherlands with her immediate family at only a year old, Patterson graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts before relocating to the Florida Keys more than 20 years ago.

She amassed more than a decade of sales management experience with Hawks Cay Resort as well as with the Sheraton and Ritz-Carlton during stints in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Patterson became a stay-at-home mom when she gave birth to her daughter, Ariana, 12, and her son, Evan, 9. She soon became active with the Stanley Switlik PTO and spent free time volunteering with the Marathon AYSO soccer teams in which her son and husband remain involved.

“I jumped at the opportunity when this job became available,” she explained of her return to work. “I’m familiar with this market and get great joy from helping promote local businesses and services.”

Patterson and her husband, TJ, Member Service Representative and Energy Conservation Auditor with the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative, enjoy spending free time at Bahia Honda State Park when not volunteering with various community events and organizations around town.

“I’m really excited to join The Weekly Newspapers and continue their successful model as a community-based publication distributed for free across the Keys. It’s a newspaper I’ve always enjoyed reading, and now I get to help contribute to their growth.”
