Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay was destined for rodeo greatness.

Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay raised more than $1,000 with a 30-second mechanical bullride this past weekend during Pig Days at the Stuffed Pig Fairgrounds.

Thanks to generous donations from the community including a serious gift from HogHeaven in Islamorada, thousands of dollars were raised to help Grace Jones and Kreative Kids daycare centers.

“The guys at Hog Heaven are our angels,” said Kreative Kids Director Karen MacCrory without intending to pun. “They delivered this mechanical hog back and forth everyday this weekend, just to help our little ones. We are so blessed.”

Dion “Bubba” Watson nabbed the first place trophy with a 35 second ride. Other winners included none other than Karen Dennis herself.
