PTO still in need of volunteers and silent auction items

Stanley Switlik Elementary school will be holding their annual Halloween Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9 am to 12 noon.

“With continuous cuts for the schools, the PTO puts all the money we raise right back into the school to help teacher buy supplies for their classrooms and plan field trips,” said PTO president Zulma Jimenez.

The annual Stanley Switlik PTO Halloween Carnival is slated for Oct. 22 from 9 am to 12 noon.

The carnival will include a costume parade, nearly 20 booths of games, great prizes for everyone, a cake walk, food, drinks, silent auction and dunking booth!

The Trunk or Treat initiated last year allows local businesses to rent a parking space for $20 and distribute candy for the kids and business cards to their parents.

However, such a fantastic affair doesn’t go off without the helping hands of dozens of volunteers. The PTO would like to extend a sincere thank you to all those who have donated time or auction items to the carnival, so they are are still looking for booth volunteers. If you can donate an hour of your time the day of the carnival please email Christine or Michelle at Christine.Paul@keysschools.com or bruceshel@aol.com with the time you prefer to work.

Jenn Eick is now heading the silent auction committee. Please email her if you have received any new silent auction items, at kevjenn221@comcast.net.

“When kids see their parents involved, it makes for much happier kids!” Jimenez noted.

Any parents interested in the Stanley Switlik PTO are invited to join them at their next meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 5:30 pm at the school.
