After months of speculation, the Key West People’s Choice Awards, officially coined the Bubbas, are finally back. And on July 16, the people of Key West will know which restaurant serves the best fish sandwich, who has the best customer service and which elected official is a town favorite. In fact, more than 50 categories will allow locals to vote on all of the incredible-ness that is Key West. And the best part, it will benefit Samuel’s House — with the generous support of First State Bank, Horan Wallace & Higgins and Waste Management.
Contest details:
- Fill out the ballot located on page 31 of this newspaper. (It has to be 75 percent filled in, to deter ballot stuffing for any one category.
- Turn the ballot in by 5 p.m. on Monday, June 13 at any of the following locations: any First State Bank branch, Samuel’s House, Horan Wallace & Higgins, Florida Keys Media and the Key West Weekly office on Stock Island.
- The top thee finalists in each category will face off in an online voting contest beginning Friday, June 17 at www.keysweekly.com or find a ballots on five of Key West’s favorite radio stations and their websites, including WEOW 92.7, 98.7 Conch Country, WAIL 99.5, 104.1 US 1 Radio and WKWF Sports Radio 1600 AM.
- Winners to be announced at the third annual 2016 Bubbas: Key West People’s Choice Awards on Saturday, July 16 at the Key West Theater.
