Following a tragic fire at a Miami food bank – one that helps stock the shelves at Keys Area Interdenominational Resources (KAIR) – last year, media maven Anne O’Bannon and engraving guru Stan Haines hatched the idea for a radio telethon to help give the local agency a boost.

KAIR is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help the disadvantaged get back on their feet, or provide basic services to those with chronic issues.

This Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 9 am to 4 pm, the dynamic duo returns for the second annual event. For a donation of money or bag of non-perishable food, those who aren’t shy of the microphone are invited to come down to Collector’s Corner in Town Square Mall to promote their business on the radio. For the teensy price of $25, a one-day restraining order to “Keep Mike Away” will prevent Mike Puto from coming to your home or business.

Last year’s event produced a truckload of groceries and more than $6,000 for the multi-faceted food bank.
