On April 8, the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County confirmed the third COVID-19-related death in Monroe County, a 75-year-old male resident who had underlying chronic conditions.

There are currently 55 positive COVID-19 cases in the Keys. 49 are residents and six are non-residents. 27 are men and 28 are women. 26 are from Key West, 10 from Key Largo, five from Tavernier, three in Marathon, and one from each of Islamorada, Summerland Key and Key Colony Beach. Two cases are missing a city.

Twenty-one are travel-related, 20 are community-acquired and 14 are under investigation.

The age range of those affected is 14 to 80, with the median age being 52.

As of 12 p.m. on April 10, there have been three deaths and seven hospitalizations.
