The third annual “Bubbas: Key West People’s Choice Awards” took place in June and raised more than $14,000 for Samuel’s House. The Bubbas, produced by the Key West Weekly and Florida Keys Media, has quickly become one of Key West’s most anticipated summer events and donates all proceeds to a selected charity each year.

“I am overwhelmed by the community’s participation and support,” said Key West Weekly’s Britt Myers. “Most of all, we couldn’t do any of it without our sponsors and I would like to thank Waste Management, First State Bank and Horan Wallace & Higgins for their incredible generosity.”

In addition, the Key West Theater donated the use of their facility and staff for the 2016 Bubbas. On Tuesday, a check was presented to Samuel’s House for $14,131.
