Upper Keys residents who need help with toys for Christmas can register with Toyz for Keyz Kidz, which is organized by a group of Sheriff’s Office employees who raise money and take toy donations each year to help needy families countywide.
To register for help in the Upper Keys (Islamorada to Key Largo), come to the Sheriff’s Office at 50 High Point Road in Tavernier on December 8th and 9th between 3 – 6 p.m. Applicants must bring with them proof of income (a tax form or pay check stub); birth certificates of all children in the household; and proof of residence in Monroe County (to include rent receipts, a driver’s license, utility bills, etc.).
