Four-legged Friends of Marathon Dog Park and their owners took over Cabana Breezes on Key Colony Beach last week during Yappy Hour.

Top Dog Contender Greta and her owners Sean Sayer and Allison White hosted the event that raised close to $1,800.  Friends of the Marathon Dog Park called turnout for the event “phenomenal.”

Organizer Mary Stella said the group did not start their fundraising in earnest until May, and they have already raised over $10,000 with four community events and miscellaneous donations.
If you missed Yappy Hour, there are several more events in the coming weeks. Don’t miss Tiki’s Top Dog Yard Sale on Saturday, Sept. 19; Hot Dogs for Top Dogs Sunday, Sept. 27; Blessing of the Animals, Sunday, Oct. 4; Bark Bingo, Wednesday, Oct. 7; and finally, on Sunday, Oct. 18, Barktoberfest.

Jessica Lilly and the Smokey Rhythm set the musical tone for the event.

Rachel Bowman and Top Dog Contender Beefy were campaigning during Yappy Hour.

Innis McNubbin, owned by Jennifer and Drew Dinan, worked to charm all the ladies.

Top Dog Contender Tiki loves her mommy Jo Grego.
