Santa Claus is coming to Islamorada (if weather cooperates) on Sunday, Dec. 17 thanks to some assistance from local firefighters and some elves.
Islamorada Firefighters’ Benevolent Association and Islamorada Fire Rescue are preparing to load the big man’s sleigh in anticipation for a ride through the village, beginning on Lower Matecube just after 5 p.m. From there, fire trucks will guide Santa and his helpers through various neighborhoods and parks, ending at Plantation Key’s Bee Street around 9:20 p.m.
U.S Marines will join Santa and fire rescuers in the trip around Islamorada, collecting unwrapped trinkets and toys for the local Toys for Tots drive.
