Mae LeCoumpte celebrates her 100th birthday on Sept. 1 at Poinciana Gardens, the assisted-living facility of the Key West Housing Authority. She was born Sept. 1, 1922.
She has four children, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. LeCoumpte has lived in Key West for more than 40 years, while members of her family have lived here for 60 years.
