Morada Bay Cafe - A plate of food on a table - Morada Bay

Morada Bay’s Beach Café opened its doors in 1996 after the bayside site was given an extensive makeover. The vision for the new eatery was to embody the essence of a peaceful oasis, strewn with gorgeous flora and relaxing bayside views.

“It became a place where you could enjoy the view and eat some good food,” said Director of Operations David Bocognano, who took over five years ago after earning his stripes in the restaurant business in New York City. “The feel is timeless.”

What started as a small beach café expanded to full outside seating on the bayside shore.

Known for its beautiful landscapes, location and ambiance, Morada Bay is the epitome of the Keys getaway. It’s a family place that feels a lot like home. And the number one rule is hospitality with a smile.

Morada Bay’s dishes are made from quality ingredients, fresh meats, organic poultry, caught-daily fish, and top quality produce. The watermelon salad, with feta cheese and aged balsamic sauce, is refreshing. The Morada Bay Salad is a local favorite. The whole fried snapper topped with sofrito criollo is also noteworthy. The Mussels a la Morada give plenty to feast upon. For dessert try the fried Oreos or the traditional Key Lime pie.

“The café’s wine selection is also one of the best in the Keys,” added Bocognano.

Some of the most popular wines are the French rose’, Argentine malbecs, and the Italian proseccos and pinot grigios – but try their hand crafted cocktails like the Ketel Beachside, and Pierre’s Punch, which is served in a mason jar.

Every month the beachfront fills up for full moon parties where resident DJ Maynard has made his claim as the Upper Keys premiere disc jockey. What started as 20 people dancing under a full moon has grown to the acclaimed party it is today. Visit Morada Bay Café for the ultimate Keys dining experience and be sure not to miss the full moon party on Friday, May 12.

Morada Bay is located at 81600 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada.
