SILENT AUCTIONS GO VIRTUAL TO SUPPORT DOGGOS AND DOLPHINS

COVID-19 canceled the Florida Keys SPCA’s annual Spring Social. It’s been replaced with the Spring Social LIVE, happening on Friday, Nov. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. Just like normal, however, it will be one of the best silent auctions to be had in the Keys.

“Guests are invited to bid on a Costa Rica getaway or you can be the highest bidder and have your pet featured on the side of the FKSPCA van,” said Jeff Johnson, chairman of the FKSPCA board.

Besides the big-ticket items, there are plenty of other items (more than 500!) ranging from small pieces of furniture to jewelry to gift certificates at local businesses.

Plus, there will be an introduction by singer/songwriter Josh Groban to kick off the evening.

To watch the virtual party, or bid, visit fkspca.org and click on the events. The website will lead viewers to the live-streaming show. The event showcases local talent, animals for adoption and guest appearances by supporters.

Viewers can also bid on items in the social auction. Again, the instructions and links are on the website, and it’s suggested that people pre-register for bidding (and to get a sneak peak at the items).

There is one unique raffle item this year — the chance for a local to have his or her pet photographed by Nick Doll and featured on the side of the FKSPCA van.

Dolphin fans from all over the world will be able to bid at the online auction site beginning Friday, Nov. 6 through mid-day of Sunday, Nov. 15.  More information, as well as the link to the auction site, is available at www.dolphins.org/membership_and_donations.
