Pencils, notebooks and paper were replaced by masks, pumpkins and more sugar than an army of children could possibly want at Stanley Switlik Elementary’s annual Halloween carnival. Organized by the school’s PTO on Oct. 25, the day included carnival games and activities, face painting, bounce houses and the famed Halloween “cake walk.” Hundreds of volunteer hours from parents and community members, along with the generosity of more than 30 business sponsors, made the day’s success a reality.
