Already boasting the largest newspaper circulation in the Florida Keys, The Keys Weekly are the only locally-owned and operated publishing company in South Florida – and fastest growing!

Within the last three years, the Keys Weekly media company has nearly doubled their staff, opened a third office and produced an inaugural event heralded by leaders of commerce and state as “the best new event in Key West.”

The company produces three weekly community newspapers, owns the premier travel and news site in the Florida Keys and publishes a myriad of specialty magazines tailored to Lobster Mini-Season, hurricane preparation, real estate, dining, boating, shopping and fishing.

Founded in September 2003, ownership of the company passed to Weekly editor, Jason Koler, and his wife, Kate, in August of 2006. Adhering to the founding principles of providing “entertaining community news showcasing the eccentric characters and tropical locations of the Florida Keys,” the company is widely regarded as the most popular and relevant media company in the Keys.

In November of 2013, Britt Myers joined the Weekly team as Publisher and co-owner of the Key West and Upper Keys markets. Jason and Britt proudly opened their Key West office and the southernmost edition now truly captures the essence of one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

The shift is now on to provide political news and enterprise stories – information the entire community finds viable to better navigate their way through the Keys. The Weekly’s content has a direct impact on their readers and is celebrated as an “unbiased, refreshing and engaging; providing a unique publication for each region of the Florida Keys, while maintaining a trusted and recognized brand.”

Now celebrating their thirteenth year, the Keys Weekly continue to be a leading supporter of area organizations. Jason currently sits on the boards for the Pigeon Key Foundation and the Fishermens Hospital Foundation for Baptist Health Systems. He is a former president of the Marathon Jaycees, former president of the Pigeon Key Foundation, Leadership Monroe County board of directors (2009-2012), member of the Upper Keys Rotary Club and offers his time to dozens of nonprofits and community organizations. Britt is a current member of the Key West Rotary, Key West Chamber of Commerce board of directors and was recently appointed to the Key West Military Affairs Committee. He has served as Marathon Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, Marathon Jaycees President, Take Stock in Children Volunteer, Monroe County Education Foundation Board Member and is a proud graduate of Leadership Monroe County.

The Weekly staff also takes great pride in assisting numerous charitable and civic organizations throughout the Florida Keys and regularly donate their time and resources to philanthropic endeavors.
