IN PICTURES: LOOKING BACK ON PAST BUBBAS

While the Bubbas are commemorated by thousands of plaques hanging on the winners’ walls throughout Key West, some of the most memorable moments occur at the annual Bubbas Awards Gala, where anything can happen and anything goes. From U.S. senators, county sheriffs, business owners and drag queens to skits, roasts and dance routines, the stage is home to any and all of our “One Human Family.”

Voters have until Monday, June 20 to nominate their favorites in over 90 categories in the  Bubbas: Key West People’s Choice Awards.

Once the nomination period ends, the top three nominees in each respective category will square off for rights to the coveted 2022 Bubba.

This year every dollar raised by our sponsors and ticket sales for the big awards night will be donated to the Bahama Village Music Program

To celebrate nine years of Bubbas, along with more than $125,000 raised for local nonprofits and charities, we take a look back in pictures from our Bubbas galas, which capture the essence of our locally owned and produced contest here in Key West.

To every voter, supporter, reader, nominee and winner — we thank you for nine wonderful years. So vote daily at keysweekly.com and stay tuned to vote for the finalists after June 20.
