If Marathon’s spring football game on May 18 against the Palm Glades Prep Academy was any indication, the Dolphins could be poised for a significant improvement on their 2021 season this fall. In a rematch of last season’s homecoming game, which saw the Fins emerge with a narrow 7-0 victory, Marathon left no doubt, posting a dominant 30-6 win over the Eagles.

Junior running back Malachi Hawkins continued his torrid pace from a few months earlier, racking up 230 yards and three touchdowns in a career rushing day behind a strong showing from Marathon’s offensive line. The Dolphins’ defense locked down on Palm Glades’ offense behind strong physical play from juniors Thomas Eubank, Sean Hale and Dylan Globe as well as freshman Fabbianho Louis.

“It was great to see our team come out and take care of business,” said head coach Mac Childress. “We have some veteran players who are starting to see their experience and hard work in the weight room pay dividends. … Our players have big goals for next season, and we are pumped for Dolphin Country to be rocking on Friday nights.”
