IN PICTURES: SWITLIK PAYS TRIBUTE TO VETS WITH RED, WHITE & BLUE DAY

Switlik fourth graders are ready for Red White & Blue Day to begin.

Stanley Switlik Elementary School hosted its annual Red, White and Blue Day on Nov. 10. A tradition since the tragic events of 9/11, the event was filled with songs, letters and speeches by Switlik students in a fitting tribute to those who served our country. 23-year Army veteran Leslie A. White addressed the crowd as the event’s guest speaker, and the ceremony drew to a close with a rendition of “God Bless the USA” led by new Marathon Mayor John Bartus. Thank you, veterans, for all you have done to keep the United States of America the land of the free and the home of the brave.
