The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center announced the selection of Katie Brennan as its new executive director.
Brennan is expected to assume her new position in mid-October following the retirement of longtime Executive Director Judy Hull.
For Brennan, the opportunity to lead the chamber is especially meaningful because Islamorada is already home. A longtime member of the Upper Keys community, she brings extensive local knowledge and a career that has touched many of the industries and businesses the chamber serves, including tourism, hospitality, real estate, marketing and events. Her professional background spans approximately 30 years and combines communications, customer service, community engagement and hands-on operations.
Brennan currently serves as marketing director for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate / Destinations & Star Properties Destinations, where she leads marketing, communications and brand development for a real estate brokerage and luxury vacation-rental company serving the Upper and Middle Florida Keys. Her work includes publications, digital and print marketing, community outreach, events and partnerships with local businesses, tourism professionals, nonprofit organizations and media.
Her earlier career includes positions in real estate, luxury hospitality and the restaurant industry, including serving as a concierge at The Islands of Islamorada. Those roles have given Brennan firsthand experience with both the visitor experience and the day-to-day realities of doing business in the Florida Keys. She is also active in the community as a Girl Scout troop leader in Islamorada. Brennan holds a bachelor of arts in communications and public relations from the College of Saint Rose.
“Islamorada is where I’ve built my career, raised my daughter, and found a community I care deeply about. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the people and businesses here in a new way. I look forward to listening to our members and building on the work Judy and the Chamber team have done.” Brennan said.
Founded in 1962, the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center is a strong and successful business organization with more than 600 members representing more than 5,000 employees. Located at the entrance to Founders Park at 87100 Overseas Highway, the chamber serves the local business community while also welcoming and assisting visitors to Islamorada.
The chamber provides year-round programs, networking opportunities and visitor services and produces two popular community festivals, Island Fest and Holiday Fest. Its mission is simple and direct: “To promote business by providing support, education and advocacy.”
“Selecting the Chamber’s next Executive Director was an important responsibility, and our Executive Committee devoted a tremendous amount of time and thought to the process,” said 2025–26 Chamber President Rob Stober. “We conducted an extensive search, carefully reviewed the candidates and spent considerable time getting to know our finalists. We are extremely pleased that the process led us to someone right here in our own community. Katie knows Islamorada, understands the community she will be serving and is genuinely excited about taking on this role. The Board is very pleased to welcome her as our new Executive Director.”
Brennan will work closely with the chamber’s board of directors, staff, members and community partners as she begins her new role leading the organization.
