At the Spring Equinox this past Sunday, the Sun moved into the sign of Aries, marking the astrological new year. So, happy fresh start to everyone and happy birthday season to all of our Aries Rams out there! This particular transition into Aries season is marked by Mars, the ruling planet of Aries, hanging out in the sign of Aquarius with Venus. To me, this asks us to question how we can enter this new astrological new year with an impulse to love those with whom we do not readily identify. In other words, we gotta stop hating each other. It’s tired.

Here are your horoscopes for the week. Read for your rising and sun signs.

March 21 – April 19

You’re in the spotlight, Aries! It is a phenomenal time to focus on yourself and any deep personal healing you’ve probably been experiencing over the past few years. Are there disharmonies taking place in your community of friends, possibly creating some disruptions with your personal finances? Assert yourself. And when you’re done, spend some time alone in retreat to enjoy the peaceful dreamy solitude and self-satisfaction.

April 20 – May 20

Work-life continues to get more and more constricting for you, Taurus. You may feel like you’re in a bit of a pickle about what to do. Rest assured that this pressure will lighten up early next week, and right now you just need to stay grounded in yourself. In the meantime, continue to play in the dreamland of imagining your ideal life and to surround yourself with your buddies. These are your sources of buoyancy.

May 21 – June 21

Gemini, you’re feeling pressure to get the hell out of Dodge! You’re being called to go, to expand, to see what else is out there. Honestly, if (like the majority of us) you can’t just pick up and go to lands beyond, the best way to deal with this pressure is to focus on your work in the public sphere because you will find great escape here. Dream the big dream and do the work to make other people see it.

June 22 – July 22

Dear Cancer, are you feeling deflated, defeated, listless? Do you poop out at parties? Vitameatavegamin notwithstanding, the planets are showing an increased pressure on the consequences of your self-reliance. Remember to feel your humility and to connect to the shared experiences we’re all going through. It’s hard out here for everybody. My recommendation: step away somehow – take a trip, read a book, watch a movie about faraway lands. There is respite in the distant for you.

July 23 – Aug. 22

This Aries season invites you to broaden your perspective, like rising up in a hot air balloon and seeing the expanse that surrounds you. It is easy to put blinders on and focus on what is right in front of us, but this is the time to seek the novelty surrounding your familiar world. There is probably difficulty in your partnerships now, but stay modest and you’ll do well.

Aug. 23 – Sept. 22

It appears that you are simultaneously feeling confused and complete, Virgo, as if you’ve landed on the tarmac and you’re not quite sure how your autopilot got you there. But, hey, brush off the dust and appreciate your survival. Hold on a little longer, though, because over the next few days it might feel as though you’re buried under too many chores, but it’s gonna lighten up after the weekend. Think of it as setting up camp after your landing – don’t shirk on the campfire.

Sept. 23 – Oct. 23

The things and activities that are usually pleasurable are probably feeling a bit constricting, e.g. if you’re a musician, your music might be your straitjacket. Apply this metaphor to your own creative outlets, and let the contraction birth a new relationship to your creative practice over the weekend. Find healing in the labor and remember to breathe.

Oct. 24 – Nov. 21

Take a minute and ask yourself, “Am I the one causing friction at home?” If you are not the cause, per se, perhaps there is something you can do to ease the pressure and let some steam escape, even if it means stepping back a bit. Help create space for the beauty that is present in your home and family to exhale. Sometimes, the best way to assert your needs is to relax.

Nov. 22 – Dec. 21

You’re approaching a great hope associated with your home and family, Sag! Is that aspiration you are moving toward a true oasis or a beguiling mirage? If mirage, what can you do to ensure that it materializes? I encourage you to tap into your existential core to ensure that the dream matches what is really possible.

Dec. 22 – Jan. 19

You’ve been establishing your material and financial foundations, Capricorn, and you’ve got some serious beauty coming at you in this realm. Maintain your course, let the love come through as it will without trying to make it conform, and don’t get seduced by the perfume. It’s like you have a beautiful artifact to sell, but you should double-check its authenticity first.

Jan. 20 – Feb. 18

You are getting more and more alluring by the moment, Aquarius! What is that? A new exercise regimen? A new face cream? New clothes? Whatever it is, it’s working for you and you should keep it up. A note of caution: this beautiful presentation you’re experiencing will be followed by some intense energy. It’s up to you whether that energy is aggression or courage.

Feb. 19 – March 20

Even though Pisces season is over, the Pisces party continues because Jupiter, Neptune and Mercury are all still hanging out in your sign. Are you being gluttonous or appreciative of the finer things? Are you feeling particularly poetic or at a loss for words? This highest vibration of this Pisces pileup is really keen and lyrical metaphysical philosophy – can you bring it to us?
