More than 135 nonprofit leaders representing nearly 60 organizations throughout the Keys gathered at Faro Blanco Resort in Marathon on Sept. 16 for the 2026 Florida Keys Nonprofit Day, an opportunity for the local nonprofit community to learn, connect and share ideas.

Presented by the Florida Keys Funders Alliance — a collaboration of the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, Ocean Reef Community Foundation and United Way of Collier and the Keys — and sponsored by First State Bank, the event brought nonprofit professionals together for educational sessions focused on strengthening their organizations and navigating the changing nonprofit landscape.

Featured speaker Robyn Faucy, CEO and owner of Results 1st and a TEDx speaker, shared strategies to help nonprofits raise more money, increase participant engagement and develop scalable, high-impact programs.

Leah McDermott, vice president of policy and programs for Florida Nonprofit Alliance, provided a statewide perspective on the challenges, trends and opportunities in the state, including at the state legislative level.

The day also provided an opportunity for nonprofit professionals serving communities throughout the island chain to meet, exchange ideas and develop relationships with organizations facing many of the same opportunities and challenges.

The Florida Keys Funders Alliance hosts the day annually as part of its ongoing effort to strengthen nonprofit organizations throughout the Keys.
