Though you’re more likely to find her in a white coat at work, Bridget Loftus has all the remedies at the Publix pharmacy. CONTRIBUTED

No matter how many individuals appear in the pages of each edition of Keys Weekly, there are always so many more of our community members who deserve to be recognized. In an effort to shine a spotlight on more of the incredible individuals who live and work in these islands, Keys Weekly is proud to spotlight our Neighbor of the Week feature, dedicated to celebrating a community member with each issue. This week’s Marathon neighbor is a familiar face behind the counter at Marathon’s Publix pharmacy.

BRIDGET LOFTUS
Pharmacy Manager, Publix

1) How did you originally come to Marathon? My husband and I moved here from Arkansas to escape the winter, and we are still here 12 years later.

2)What would you like to be remembered for? For being dedicated to my family and hardworking, and for helping others.

3) What’s the weirdest request you’ve ever gotten at the pharmacy (that we can print in a newspaper)? There are so many, but someone once asked me if I could take a few minutes and peel all the dead skin off their back. But the number one question is “Where are the restrooms?”

4) What’s the funniest/most unique song on one of your playlists? I always have Rob Zombie and Alice in Chains on my running playlist.

5) What is the last book you read or TV show you binged? Book: “The Alice Network.” Show: “Peaky Blinders.”

6) What would you do if you won the lottery? Travel the world and adopt so many animals.

7) What’s the weirdest or funniest app on your phone? Probably the Shame Bell app. Also, I’m addicted to the Rain Rain app. (Editor’s note: We checked them out, and both are worth a try.)

8) What’s one thing that is always on a menu, but you will never try? Oysters

9) What’s one thing most people never knew about you? I can weld.

10) Two truths and a lie. I’m a great cook, I love wine and carrot cake, and I have two children and a cat named Pearl. (Our last Neighbor of the Week, Shaughn, said he’s not big on voting. We’ll work on it.)

11) What’s the best advice you’ve ever received or given (or, is there a piece of advice you think is overrated or wrong? Don’t take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from.
