The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said a 60-year-old Minnesota man died while snorkeling in waters off Marathon.
Eric Adams Anderson, of Zimmerman, Minnesota, died at approximately 3:37 p.m. on Dec. 27, following a snorkeling incident on Sombrero Key Lighthouse. Anderson lost consciousness while in the water. Lifesaving measures began immediately. The U.S. Coast Guard brought Anderson ashore.
Foul play is not believed to be a factor. Autopsy results are pending.
