Oct. 6 election forum explains November constitutional amendments

Upper Keys League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum and a presentation on the three constitutional amendments that will appear on the November general election ballot.  The event is on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 5:30 at Coral Isles Church).  

Attendees can talk to the candidates from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be available. There will be a presentation by the League of Women Voters on the Florida constitutional amendments and voting information by Monroe County Supervisor of Elections Sherri Hodies. 

A forum concludes with the Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District candidates responding to questions pertinent to the Upper Keys voters. Ann Helmers, vice president of the league, will be moderator.

The forum will be live-streamed on the “Upper Keys League of Women Voters” Facebook page.  A recording will be available there after the event.   

 “Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy, and the league is incredibly proud to serve the public as a trusted resource for voters with events like these,” said Barbara Overton, Upper Keys League of Women Voters president.
