In an awards ceremony on April 24, Key West Police Chief Sean Brandenburg named Randall Hartle as the 2025 Officer of the Year.

Keys Federal Credit Union and Blue Marlin Jewelry sponsored the honor, each awarding Hartle $500. The Double Tree Grand Key Resort hosted the ceremony.

Hartle came to the Key West Police Department in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, starting work on Sept. 17, 2001.

He is committed to building community relationships and in his latest and favorite position as a motors officer, he proves that he loves what he does. Hartle is reliable, professional and compassionate, states a press release from the police department.

“His passion for his career, commitment to the citizens of Key West and positive representation of the Key West Police Department have earned him this award,” said Brandenburg.
