Readers of all ages: Summer reading is available at the Monroe County Library System.

This year the library is diving into the ocean depths to bring kids and families tons of exciting events, including games, ocean-related crafts, art projects and science experiments.

Stop by the libraries for a reading log to win prizes and enter in raffles. The first day to pick up reading logs is Monday, June 6. Contact your local branch library to learn how to participate or visit KeysLibraries.Org to download a reading log.

The county libraries offer programs to keep children and their families reading all summer long, a community tradition that promotes reading for fun and lifelong enrichment. Reading together as a family helps prevent summer learning loss and encourages strong communication and bonding. Summer reading isn’t just for kids but for teens as well.

Here’s what you can do during the Summer Reading Program:

  • Visit the library and check out books or download eBooks from the Libby app.
  • Pick up a reading log.
  • Read at least 20 minutes every day and track it on your reading log.
  • Turn in your reading log for chances to win a prize.
  • Attend library programs throughout the summer for more chances to win.
