And then there were 10.

Five strapping gentlemen and five lovely ladies make up the prom court for Marathon High School, with the king and queen set to be decided this Saturday, May 16. Before the court gets dressed to the nines and dances the night away, the Keys Weekly asked each member for their fondest Marathon memory – and a final campaign push as votes are cast.

DANIEL MESSORI:

Favorite Marathon memory: Playing varsity soccer.

I was nominated because I’ve got personality, I guess.

VLANNIER BORREGO:

Favorite Marathon memory: Playing little league. We used to be called “The Mustard” because our team was yellow.

I was nominated because I’m probably the funniest one here.

MAX CHILDRESS

Favorite Marathon memory: Competing twice at States for weightlifting.

I was nominated because I’m known for good things, not being a bad person.

SHAVELY LOPEZ

Favorite Marathon memory: Making all of my friends. When I came here from Key West in eighth grade, I had none.

I was nominated because I’m pretty. I’m humble, but I know the truth.

SHAMAR WRIGHT

Favorite Marathon memory: I think sixth grade was my best year. I was bald, and I went around making a coronavirus video.

I was nominated because I’m a happy person, always smiling no matter what.

KATERIN ‘KAT’ GUERRA

Favorite Marathon memory: Going out to the beach with my friends after school.

I was nominated because I can be really outgoing with the people I know, but I’m quiet otherwise.

ROLAND GONZALEZ

Favorite Marathon memory: My friend group over this last year. We would just meet up every day after school and enjoy life to the fullest.

Vote for me because I always try to bring positive energy into everyone’s day, and try to show respect and kindness to all my peers.

JUSTICE ‘VOO’ LEE ISOM

Favorite Marathon memory: Becoming state champion – three times in weightlifting, and one time in track and field.

I was nominated because I’ve been involved in a bunch of things since sixth grade. I’ve been our class president for two years, student government president and team captain for golf, weightlifting and track.

MACKENZIE BUDI

Favorite Marathon memory: I don’t have one specific one, but MHS has been filled with friendships that shaped me into who I am today.

Vote for me because I’m fun, outgoing and always down to make the night unforgettable for everyone.

ADDISON COLLINS

Favorite Marathon memory: During soccer season on the way to an away game, we went through our bus burning down. But it was a good bonding experience for the team, we made a good day out of it and we ended up winning our game.Vote for me because I’m a very positive person, very involved in the community and I’ve gotten really close with everyone this school year. I love making memories with everyone, and this would be a great way to end my senior year.
