During this past weekend’s Take Stock in Children Fishing Tournament, two local fishing guides, Michael Shipley of Island Bay Charters and Cris Jones, of Mudpuppy Charters, spotted an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin isolated and stuck in a shallow area in north Florida Bay, near Crocodile Drag-Over. An inter-agency team — including Dolphins Plus Marine Mammal Responder and members of the National Park Service — responded and successfully rescued the animal. CONTRIBUTED
