Forget posting yard sale signs all over town. Selling your stuff has never been easier. Just load up your car or truck, show up and sell at the twice-monthly Key West Community Garage Sale: Junk in the Trunk.
The event returns Saturday, May 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Truman Waterfront Park.
Sellers are charged by the size of their trunk — $15 for a car, $20 for a truck/SUV and $25 for a van/trailer. Payments must be made in cash the morning of the events. And don’t forget to bring cash to make change.
Sellers can show up the morning of and be placed as they arrive, or register in advance to save a few dollars. Bring your unwanted items, pop the trunk, and turn clutter into cash without the hassle of hosting a sale at home.
Expect a mix of household goods, vintage finds, fishing gear, sports equipment, collectibles, clothes, kids stuff, quirky treasures, and the random items that make garage sales fun. It’s part community gathering, part flea market and part “what’s hiding in that trunk?”
Keep Key West Beautiful returns as the featured nonprofit partner, offering free reusable shopping bags while helping promote reuse, repurposing and waste reduction.
The event takes place along the East Quay Wall at Truman Waterfront Park and offers free parking with a residential sticker.
The sale is planned for the first and third Saturdays of each month, pending continued participation and community support. There will not be a sale on July 4.
