Best in the Biz: Marathon Chamber of Commerce holds annual awards & induction banquet

This past weekend, members of the Middle Keys business community gathered at Hawks Cay Resort as Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay and Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce CEO Daniel Samess installed a new slate of directors for the upcoming year. As voted on by the membership, the Chamber presented numerous awards to local businesses for community contributions, beautification efforts, customer service and for other businesses making an impact in the Middle Keys.

Outgoing board chair Dale Colburn received a round of applause from the membership for his leadership, while incoming board chair and Marathon Weekly editor, Alex Rickert stepped into the role.

The Chamber is responsible for representing the interests of its membership through lobbying efforts, marketing, education and outreach. Established more than 50 years ago, the Chamber also produces the Marathon Seafood Festival and SantaCon and assists with other events throughout the year.
