Two Marathon attorneys invited their community to celebrate the passing of a legal torch as Tom Wright and new firm owner Tony Barrows celebrated the announcement of Wright Barrows PLLC on Aug. 18.

“I’m excited that an attorney as capable as Tony is going to keep the business going,” said Wright, who will continue to live in Marathon and be available for counsel to the firm. Wright indicated that Barrows will take over all the firm’s existing files while retaining the same employees. “Using my name is mainly to show the continuity,” he explained. “Tony certainly has my endorsement.”

A graduate of Marathon High School, Barrows worked for the public defender’s office for eight years and in a small Key West law firm before opening his own practice in 2012. Now at the helm of the practice located at 9711 Overseas Highway in Marathon, Barrows said he’s excited to return as a familiar local and continue learning from Wright as he takes the firm to new heights.
