Key West Rum Fest is back — and benefitting MARC

Key West Rum Fest is underway in Key West, Aug. 10-16, assembling rum enthusiasts, distillers, master ambassadors, musicians, food lovers and community supporters to celebrate the “spirit” that’s synonymous with the islands.

The annual festival features tastings, educational experiences, live entertainment, culinary events and unique Key West experiences. The festival helps MARC, the nonprofit Monroe Association for Remarkable Citizens, continue its mission of improving the lives of adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The biggest boost for the organization takes place Saturday, Aug. 15, when Key West Theater hosts a Grand Tasting event from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Hosted by Neil Lindley and the Key West Rum Fest team, the Grand Tasting is the centerpiece of Rum Fest. The 2024 and 2025 events raised more than $50,000 for MARC. All of the proceeds from the Grand Tasting go to MARC for the organization’s programs and services.

Guests at the Grand Tasting will be able to sample rums from more than 40 vendors, while meeting the makers, storytellers and ambassadors behind some of the world’s finest rums.
