LifeWise Academy in Tavernier will host an open house on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pearl Christian Church, 161 Pearl Ave., to benefit students attending LifeWise Monroe FL. This event is open to the public and will provide information for parents interested in enrolling their children, while also raising community awareness for the program launching at Plantation Key School this fall.
LifeWise Academy, based in Hilliard, Ohio, is a religious instruction program providing Bible-based character education to public school students. With parent permission, students are released from school for one hour per week to attend off-campus classes.
“We are excited to offer Bible-based character education to participating students at Plantation Key School, and look forward to working with our community to make it a success,” said Ginger Smith, LifeWise Academy Monroe director.
The open house will include outdoor games for the kids, classroom tours, opportunities to meet LifeWise teachers and a sample lesson demonstrating what students will experience during LifeWise classes. Parents, grandparents and other community members are invited to attend, learn more about the program and ask questions about enrollment before classes begin this fall.
LifeWise lessons teach the Bible chronologically. Each lesson connects a Bible passage to a relevant character trait that students are encouraged to practice in their families and communities.
