MOUNT SINAI THROWN ‘SUNSET SOIREE’ TO INTRODUCE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS

The lawn of the Casa Marina was a vision in white on April 30, when Mount Sinai hosted its second annual Sunset Soiree, where guests were encouraged to wear all white or pastels.

The evening is designed to bring together the health care nonprofit’s senior leadership, some of its top physicians from Miami, and members of the Key West community, all in one place, at sunset.

The cocktail party comes at a time when the Lower Florida Keys Hospital District board is preparing to seek proposals from health care companies interested in running Lower Keys Medical Center, as the current hospital company’s operating agreement for the hospital expires in 2029.

The board and a committee of citizens have been working with health care consultants to draft a request for proposals that is expected to be approved this week to begin soliciting interest from other companies, as well as from the current operation, Community Health Systems.

The board meets Monday, May 11 at the Doubletree Grand Key Resort at 3 p.m.
