#Music: Masters play the blues - A group of people on a stage - The Blues Brothers

The Blues Brothers Soul Band is known for packing a powerhouse performance. None of the success of this show would be possible without the sheer class of the band’s musicians. Jake and Elwood themselves are fictional characters (created originally by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd), but band members Paul Ferretti and Lynn LaFrance certainly play the part.

This dynamic band is comprised of ten musicians: two lead vocalists, a female vocalist, a full rhythm section and a three-piece horn section. “This being a concert/show, all the band members are live on stage and nothing is pre-programmed electronic disco or back tracks” said a review.

With songs by figures such as Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, John Lee Hooker and Aretha Franklin, the main drive of performance is ignited through guitar, keyboard and saxophone.

While the tribute band dwells in the soulful palette of rhythm blues, jazz and funk, they can handle rock, pop, country, fusion, hip-hop, and even heavy metal. The Blues Brothers Soul Band specializes in weddings, large corporate and social events and can perform as a two man with playback in the style of “Universal Studios” or with a full live band.

The Blues Brothers Soul Band was recently caught in the act at Tarpon Creek Bar & Grill. The band is scheduled to return Friday, Nov. 7 to the Sunset Grille and Raw Bar. Don’t forget your sunglasses and porkpie hat.
