You know you love it, dressing up your dog or cat in any variety of holiday costumes, from elf ears to Santa hats. Granted, your dog or cat may be less than thrilled and unwilling to wear their holiday wardrobe for long, so snap your photos quickly to help homeless animals in the Florida Keys this holiday season.

The Florida Keys SPCA will turn its annual Parade of Paws event into a safe, socially distant virtual dog walk to benefit the homeless animals of the Middle and Lower Keys during the entire month of December.

Supporters are able to create individual fundraising pages featuring their pets to raise donations from the community that will provide food, medical care, vaccinations and daily needs for animals waiting for their furever homes.

The owners and pets that raise the most money will become part of the Royal Court with the king and queen virtually crowned and celebrated the first week of January. Winning pets will be issued a crown and cape to wear in a photo to be featured on the SPCA’s social media pages and website throughout January.

The FKSPCA will showcase all participants and their pets through their social media and email networks throughout December. All contestants that raise a minimum of $100 will be eligible to win prizes, with top awards going to the Royal Court.

So start your pet’s page and go for a walk!
