The Florida Keys History & Discovery Center, in partnership with Islander Resort, will host the Florida Freedom Tour Road Trip on Tuesday, June 30 from 2 to 7 p.m. as part of the statewide America 250 commemoration.

The Florida Freedom Tour is a traveling outreach initiative designed to bring history directly to communities across the state. As part of its journey through all 67 Florida counties, the tour features two mobile exhibits exploring key chapters of Florida history. One focuses on Florida’s role in the American Revolution, while the other highlights the state’s growth and development in the 20th century.

The event will take place on the grounds of the Islander Resort and offers visitors a unique way to engage with Florida’s history.

In conjunction with the tour stop, the Florida Keys History & Discovery Center will offer free museum admission all day. Visitors will also have the opportunity to join guided museum tours every hour on the hour beginning at 2 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public and offers a special opportunity for residents and visitors alike to take part in a statewide commemoration of Florida and American history.
